Red parrot tulips! I love these intricate, delicate, beautiful flowers. In this painting, the black background makes the transition of bright colours on the petals especially dramatic.
I named this painting after a good friend of mine, Lidiya. Lidiya remains a bright, colourful person even in the background of the black aftermath of the destruction wrecked thru the shelling and bombardment by Russian invaders in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Lidiya did not leave the town and, together with other people still resident, helps to clean the rubble, bringing a thread of hope and a ray of light into their lives made so desperate by the war.
This original oil on canvas painting is a part of the “Red parrot tulips” collection. This artwork looks particularly impressive when displayed together with other artworks from this collection: the paintings are of the same size, and together create a pleasing to the eye composition.
“Lidiya” is a large, 102x76cm, oil painting on canvas stretched on a quality 38mm deep frame, sealed with varnish to enhance the lifetime, framed in a box frame to protect the valuable artwork and comes signed, with a wire on the back ready for hanging.
