Marina Strijakova was born in 1964, and she resides in Sydney, Australia. She grew up in Moscow, Russia, in an educated engineer and scientist family.
Marina lost her mother at the early age of 10. The loss made her childhood in a tough society even more emotionally challenging. Long walks with her pet dogs in parks and forests were a psychological outlet she could afford at the time. Marina became fascinated by the beauty of our planet from an early age. The love of animals and plants inspired her to start her career as a biologist.
Marina migrated to Australia in 1999, a mother of three. As she delved into exploring Australia’s unusual flora and fauna, her dedication to the animal and plant worlds opened a new perspective in her mind. Marina began attending a series of workshops, learning visual art skills from the best in their field. She found a new passion for expressing herself in oil paintings, pastel artworks and her unique controlled acrylic colour flow style.
Now an artist with a defined style, Marina grows her online and physical artistic exposure. Marina’s works earned recognition as finalists for multiple awards and prizes, including second prize in the 2021 Sydney Royal Easter Show and second prize in the 2019 Liverpool Art Society Annual Art Prize.
